Description

The film, set in Provence, is about the relationship between peasant purity and metropolitan corruption. It tells the story of Hercule (Fernandel), a young fisherman who inherits the direction of the great Parisian newspaper “L’Incorruptible”. The publicist Vasco works there and, having become an editor, tries to use the newspaper for a series of scams. With the help of his beautiful secretary, Hercule manages to get rid of the cheater, appoints an honest young journalist in his place and returns to his beloved campaign.
Illustrated by the designer Bohle and printed by the Provencal typography “La Lithotyp” by Roqueveire, the image of the poster alludes to the strength of the sympathetic and mythical Hercule-Fernandel (known in Italy for the saga Peppone and Don Camillo), in which weightlifting is probably a metaphor for the strength of honesty that always manages to get the better of cheating and misdeeds.
