Achille Luciano Mauzan (Gap 1883 – Gap 1952) wanted to represent here the idea of a bed rest properly prepared by a first nap on a comfortable sofa. He did so with his usual irony and with a character this time bonaccione and not grotesque as in other drawings, one for all the manifesto for Parmesan Bertozzi. Mauzan has worked in France, Italy and Argentina, and has also been a prolific creator of film posters. This work is signed by the author with the clarification “d’apres” probably because it is printed by the company on the basis of an earlier drawing of his.
